Wow. Today, today was a super fantastic kind of day. Today I got to teach Sunday school, see my parents and sister, enjoy lunch with friends and family, and relax a bit. But most importantly, today was the day that I was baptized!
I was baptized in a Lutheran - Missouri Synod church when I was seven years old, when my parents had landed on a church up north. I was not a believer when I was baptized; I accepted Christ as my savior when I was ten at Camp Joy Bible Camp. I remember the night and the joy in my heart. When I was sixteen, I realized that I was leading a "Christian" life for myself, not for God and I recommitted my life to Christ. I was bound to religion and only superficially engaging in a relationship with Christ. I was suffocating. Religion requires perfection, and I fear failure, so I thought I could obtain salvation. I was wrong. I need Jesus, every hour.
Today, I was baptized for the second time - but for the first time as a believer and fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Amen. I praise God for the work that he has done and is doing my life. And for a church that seeks God and preaches truth, gospel friends who love and encourage me, and a Savior that did not have to die for my sins but was glad to do it.

When I was in the tank, I was asked two questions:
1. Are you now trusting in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of your sins and for the fulfillment of all of His promises to you, even eternal life?
2. And is it now your intention with God's help to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and obey His teachings?
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
"Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life." -Romans 6:3-4
"In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead." -Colossians 2:11-12

And I wore the pearls that my brother Alex gave me while being baptized :)
